December 2015 Updates
Happy New Year! Here are our December 2015 Updates! Our 2015 Holiday Care Package Campaign was an amazing success! Over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays we were able to provide 440 care packages to inpatient families at Sparrow Hospital. Our care packages provided soups and pastas, cookies, muffins, bars, treats and more to ensure families did not need to miss a meal while their child was inpatient. Handmade prayer shawls, slippers and coffee kozees were generously donated to help make their stay more comfortable. November 2015 Updates
Hello friends! Here are our November 2015 Updates. We delivered our 1000th care package to Sparrow Hospital on October 21! We were so excited to hit this milestone, and so very thankful for your help <3 Here’s to the next 1000! Holiday Care Package Campaign Update! We are excited to have 11 days sponsored – four days over Thanksgiving weekend and 7 days leading up to Christmas week! We have been busy shopping to get everything ready for Thanksgiving! Six Months in Heaven
Today is a very emotional day for us – as of today our beautiful Allison Ruth has spent six months in Heaven. It has been a hard six months, and compared to the ten short months we had her with us it seems to have been unusually long. We miss her. We miss her sweet smile, her beautiful eyes, and her giggles. We miss her cuddles and her kisses. We miss how much she loved and cared for people. We are so heartbroken to have lost her. But we are soo proud! Proud of who she was and who she taught us to be. Help Us Bring the Holidays to the Hospital

Being inpatient over the holidays is even harder. This year, we would like to provide care packages to Sparrow Hospital families for the entire Thanksgiving weekend and all of Christmas Week – ELEVEN DAYS TOTAL! The Life My Daughter Gave Me
The life my daughter gave me is one that I had been dreaming about for as long as I can remember. I had always wanted to do something to make a difference. As a young girl, I wanted to be a doctor to help people. In High School, the thought of being a lawyer focusing on women’s issues was intriguing to me. In College, I wanted to work with a nonprofit and change the world. Life doesn’t always go according to plan – especially plans made in Elementary School. Supporting Families: The First Two Weeks
It’s been two weeks since the Princess Alli Foundation began supporting families at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI. What an amazing experience these first two weeks have been! On May 6 we delivered our first 40 care packages. Our RNICU families received water bottles, granola bars, peanuts, a pack of gum, and gel window clings to decorate the cribs and isolettes. We also provided a basket full of toiletries for the moms that spend their days in the unit with their newborns. PEDS and PICU families received granola bars, peanuts and gum in their bags. Why the difference? PEDS and PICU families have access to “pantries” that Sparrow Hospital generously stocks for them. These […]
Legacy of Love
Our daughter, Allison Russcher, passed away on January 29, 2015 at the age of ten months. In her short life, she spent almost 14 weeks inpatient between Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. In those weeks I learned first-hand how hard it is to be at the hospital day and night to take care of a sick child while also taking care of myself. It wasn’t uncommon to not be able to leave the bedside for adequate meals, a shower, or to wash laundry.
