Hi! I’m Melanie – Alli’s Mom. When we started Princess Alli Foundation in 2015 we couldn’t have imagined how blessed we would be through our Hospital Care Package Project. Not only do we find great comfort in helping other families that have found themselves in a crisis situation, like we did, but we love knowing that our sweet girl will not be forgotten.
Thank you for helping to build my daughter’s legacy – we couldn’t do it without you!

Our 2016 Holiday Care Package Project was a huge success! We were able to provide more than 400 food care packages to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI thanks to the support of our generous sponsors! We were even able to provide extra food items to our friends at Bronson Methodist in Kalamazoo!
In 2017 we will once again be providing Holiday Care Packages for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, and are excited to be planning Christmas Day deliveries to Bronson, DeVos, and Hurley in addition to Sparrow Hospital!
We have several group/Corporate sponsorships available for purchase, and are also asking for individual donations in any amount to help us cover the cost of this project ($1,200).
Group/Corporate sponsors will receive mention on social media, our webpage, and within the care packages themselves. We also welcome the addition of a small flyer/coupon from your place of business, upon approval. Purchase your 2017 sponsorship on our website.
CRAFTERS! We would love to provide gifts to the parents/caregivers during Christmas week. Please let us know if you or your group would like to donate your work!
Individual donations (any amount) can be made securely through our Paypal giving site: www.paypal.me/princessalli

This past week we wrapped up our 2nd Annual Holiday Care Package Project with a Christmas Eve delivery to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI, and a Christmas Eve Eve toiletry delivery to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI!
This year we were able to provide another 440 food care packages, 150 toiletry packages, and additional food items to Michigan children’s hospitals. We are so very humbled by the generous support this project has received again this year! We are also very grateful for our friends at Michigan State University and the Upward Bound program for helping us pack all of our holiday bags!
THANK YOU to those of you that donated to, spread the word about, or prayed for our foundation and our care package projects! We look forward to partnering with you again in 2017!
Happy New Year!
We’ve delivered 4000 bags!
Congratulations and THANK YOU for helping us provide more than 4000 Bags since we founded Princess Alli Foundation in 2015!
On Tuesday, September 27 the Junior High Youth from Family Bible Church in Marshall, MI helped pack food and toiletry care packages for our Hospital Care Package Project!
In 1/2 hour, this amazing group of teens packed 160 food care packages to bring to Sparrow Hospital, and 180 toiletry care packages for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, Bronson Children’s Hospital, and Hurley Medical Center!
Each food care package contains a bottle of water, a granola bar, a pack of crackers or rice crispy treat, and of course chocolate! The toiletry care packages provide a wide range of personal hygiene products including shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, lotion, a toothbrush and toothpaste. We are humbled and honored to announce our participation in the US CuddleCot Campaign Initiative, a grant writing campaign organized and led by Stories of Babies Born Still (S.O.B.B.S.).
From the Campaign’s Facebook Page:
From the founder of SOBBS and as a mother of a stillborn child thank you so much for taking the time to review the information on the CuddleCot.
For those not familiar with the unit a CuddleCot is an in room cooling unit that is the size of a small humidifier disguised inside of a Moses basket. Research has proven having a unit available to parents while they are in the hospital encourages families to spend time with their baby. This gift of time allows precious hours for bonding, pictures, plaster molds to be taken and other family members to come and meet the baby before the natural changes that occur in death become more apparent. In addition the baby can now stay in the room with the family the entire hospital stay if the family so desires. While we know this might not be for everyone it does allow families a choice.
Choices become so important very, very important when it seems as if all are taken away and suddenly families go from planning a future to a funeral in the blink of an eye. Every moment spent is a precious gift and as a grieving parent you never know what your heart may need to continue its healing journey weeks, months or even years down the road. Across the board almost all the parents we spoke with wish they would have spent more time with their baby. All the parents who were offered used a CuddleCot are all are very grateful it was available to them. They credit its use as being a solid, healthy way to begin their mourning and grieving journey.”

By partnering with the US CuddleCot Campaign Initiative, Princess Alli Foundation hopes to help secure grants to purchase CuddleCots for Michigan Childrens Centers, in memory of our sweet Allison Ruth. This Campaign is close to our hearts because access to a CuddleCot when Allison passed would have given us time with her that we were not able to have. We want to give that gift of time to other families.

Here’s to 3000 more!
We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership that will bring our resources in front of The Mighty‘s wide-reaching readership. We will now have a growing home page on The Mighty and appear on many stories on the site.
The Mighty is a story-based health community focused on improving the lives of people facing disease, disorder, mental illness and disability (Here’s an example of the kind of stories on The Mighty: What Nobody Tells You About Self-Care). More than half of Americans are facing serious health conditions or medical issues. They want more than information. They want to be inspired. The Mighty publishes real stories about real people facing real challenges.
We’re dedicated to helping families with pediatric illnesses in their lives. With this partnership, we’ll be able to help even more people.
We encourage you to submit a story to The Mighty and make your voice heard.
Princess Alli Foundation is excited for the opportunity to partner with Hurley Medical Center to provide Toiletry Care Packages to families at their Children’s Hospital! Our first care package delivery was made on July 9, 2016!

We are in need of the following sample/trial size items for our toiletry bags:
- Body Wash or Bar Soap
- Dental Floss
- Face/Makeup Wipes
