Our Sparrow Care Package Program was established on May 6, 2015 and was the Princess Alli Foundation’s first project! By the end of December 2015 we had provided 1740 meal and snack bags to Sparrow! As of December 2018, more than 8,000 care packages have been donated to mid-Michigan families thanks to our amazing sponsors!
Each week we pull our little blue wagon through the hospital to deliver 60 care packages to caregivers with children in the RNICU, PICU, and PEDS departments.
Our RNICU bags contain bottle water, snacks, and treats to help new moms (and dads!) get through the long NICU days.
Our PICU and PEDS bags contain snacks and treats, and often have warm soups, oatmeal, and microwave pasta bowls to help caregivers get through long hospital nights.
We also provide toiletry care packages, which we deliver to the parent’s lounge, to ensure caregivers get a chance to freshen up during their stay.
And sometimes – we have gifts for the kids 🙂
