Supporting Families: The First Two Weeks

It’s been two weeks since the Princess Alli Foundation began supporting families at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI.  What an amazing experience these first two weeks have been!

First care packages ready to go!

On May 6 we delivered our first 40 care packages.  Our RNICU families received water bottles, granola bars, peanuts, a pack of gum, and gel window clings to decorate the cribs and isolettes.  We also provided a basket full of toiletries for the moms that spend their days in the unit with their newborns.

PEDS and PICU families received granola bars, peanuts and gum in their bags.  Why the difference?  PEDS and PICU families have access to “pantries” that Sparrow Hospital generously stocks for them.  These pantries include crackers, juice, milk, and coffee, as well as easy access to ice and water.

Brae pulling his wagon full of goodies!

On May 13 we were able to provide another 40 care packages – completely stocked by donations!

Our RNICU families received granola bars, cookies or crackers, mints, water bottles, and more cute clings this week, and we restocked the toiletry basket.

Adding treats!

PEDS an PICU families received granola bars and mints in their bags, and thanks to our generous donors, each family received a microwavable bowl of soup or mac and cheese to supplement a meal!

Care packages ready to go out on May 13!

In these first two weeks we have also been able to bring our website online, have filed our articles of incorporation with the State of Michigan, and have received our first feedback from the hospital.  It is amazing to see Allison’s legacy taking shape – we couldn’t do it without you.

Please keep your donations coming!  You are helping to make a big difference in the lives of these families!

Love,

Melanie
